Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The letter covers all three bullet points: it describes the course, explains why the university is recommended, and provides application advice. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of why the university is recommended is a bit repetitive, focusing on 'business' and 'technology' without providing specific examples of the curriculum or campus life. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your personal experience with the course to make the advice feel more authentic and helpful.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized, with each paragraph addressing a specific part of the prompt. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'In the end of the course' and 'For a reason', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical. The paragraphing is clear, which helps the reader follow your advice easily. To improve, try to use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that the flow between sentences is smoother, as some sentences feel slightly disconnected from the previous ones.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You have an adequate range of vocabulary for this task, using terms like 'entrepreneur', 'scratch', and 'effectively'. However, there are some noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'privilage' (spelling), 'busineess' (spelling), and 'Technology that driven' (grammar/word form). Additionally, phrases like 'best beginning of the future' sound slightly unnatural. While these errors do not impede communication, they limit the score. Focusing on accurate spelling and more natural collocations will help you achieve a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement ('not everybody have'), article usage ('the Business Technology course'), and prepositional errors ('in the end of the course' should be 'at the end'). Some sentences are also missing necessary words, such as 'They will teach you how'. While your meaning is generally clear, these recurring errors in basic grammar prevent a higher score. You should focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and article placement.
