Dear Linda,
I hope you are doing splendidly. I am writing this letter to give you all information about the course which I did in Toronto University.
I have completed my Master in Microbiology from Toronto University. I graduated this degree this year. It is fruitful subject which has number of career opportunities. You would have 4 semesters and each term has 5 subjects with 2 laboratory work.
Studying in this university is a great achievement in itself. If I talk about professor, they all are well experienced and their way to teach the concept is outstanding. They more focus on demonstration along with theory. This university provide chance to get placement in well renowned research center and laboratories.
In order to get hassle free admission, I will suggest you to go over there and read prospect properly and do admission in person. You can request them to do some reduction in your fees and to apply for scholarship. Because, they consider to those students who are in marit list.
I wish you good luck. Feel free to call me if you need my assistance.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the prompt: describing the course, explaining why you recommend the university, and providing advice on the application process. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend, and the purpose is clear throughout. However, some ideas could be developed further; for instance, the advice on applying in person is quite specific but could be expanded with more detail on why this is beneficial compared to online applications. Overall, the response covers all requirements well and maintains a consistent focus on the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized with clear paragraphing, each focusing on a specific aspect of the prompt. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'In order to' and 'Because' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes a bit mechanical, and some transitions could be smoother. For example, the jump from discussing the professors to the university's placement opportunities could be better connected. Referencing is generally clear, and the letter follows a standard structure that is easy for the reader to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'fruitful', 'demonstration', and 'renowned'. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'I graduated this degree' (should be 'I graduated with this degree' or 'I completed this degree') and 'marit list' (spelling error for 'merit list'). While you attempt to use some less common vocabulary, the overall range is somewhat limited. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise collocations and ensure spelling is accurate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'It is fruitful subject' (missing article 'a'), 'If I talk about professor' (should be plural 'professors'), and 'This university provide' (subject-verb agreement error). While these errors are frequent, they do not impede communication, and the meaning remains clear throughout. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, the correct use of articles, and pluralization. Increasing the variety of complex structures while maintaining accuracy will help you achieve a higher score.
