Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task: describing the course, recommending the university, and providing application advice. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited by grammatical errors and missing articles, which occasionally make the content feel slightly disjointed. For instance, while you mention the internship, the explanation of how it prepares students could be more clearly linked to the university's benefits. To reach a higher band, ensure that your explanations are fully developed and that the connection between your personal experience and the advice given is more explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each focusing on one of the required points. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Additionally' and 'To be honest', to transition between ideas. However, the flow is sometimes interrupted by missing articles and awkward phrasing, such as 'As you know I the same course', which makes the progression feel mechanical rather than fluid. The use of referencing is generally clear, but the overall cohesion would benefit from a wider variety of linking words and more precise sentence construction to ensure the reader follows your argument without effort.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'fundamentals', 'placement assistance', and 'web portal'. However, there are several instances where word choice is imprecise or missing, such as 'AI Engineering course' (missing 'the') and 'whichever that portal you for' (which is grammatically incomplete and lacks the correct verb). The vocabulary is sufficient to communicate your message, but it lacks the flexibility and precision required for a higher band. To improve, focus on using more natural collocations and ensuring that your word choices are grammatically supported within the sentence structure.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
Your writing shows a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent errors that impact the quality of the text. Many sentences suffer from missing articles (e.g., 'for AI Engineering course', 'in market'), missing verbs (e.g., 'As you know I the same course'), and awkward phrasing. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent throughout the letter. To improve, you should focus on basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and paying closer attention to the use of articles and prepositions.
