Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: describing the course, recommending the university, and providing application advice. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. However, some ideas are slightly under-developed or contain illogical points, such as mentioning that the 'passing grade is low' as a reason to recommend a course, which may not be seen as a positive academic attribute. To reach a higher band, ensure that your reasons for recommendation are more persuasive and relevant to the academic quality of the course.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, and the progression of ideas is generally clear. You use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover', 'Additionally', and 'If you want to apply'. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing, such as 'it course' and 'I can him for further information', which disrupt the flow. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer to their antecedents would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You have an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, covering topics like education and application procedures. There are some noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'MITT institude' (spelling), 'struggling from long time' (preposition error), and 'apply on online'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they indicate a need for more precise control over common collocations and spelling. Expanding your vocabulary to include more specific academic or professional terms would help improve your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the early childhood education'), pluralization ('working with children's'), and verb forms ('this course include'). Additionally, there are some punctuation and syntax issues, such as 'they donot expect credit cards'. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. Increasing the number of error-free sentences will be key to moving into the 7.0 band range.
