Student answer (Band 7.0)
Dear Mitali,
I hope you are doing well. I am happy to hear that you are applying for the same course which I did at university and seek my advise regarding study subjects.
I did Physiotherapy course at university in the government physiotherapy college in my town. In this course, you have to study a number of subjects like anatomy, physiology, exercise therapy, medicine, pathology and so on as a major. Additionally, phycology, sociology and english are minor topics. Apart from that, I got an opportunity to explore numerous wards in the hospital in order to explore new diseases and provide treatment to diverse patients.
I suggest you to get admission in the government college in my town because it is one of the best medical university in my town. Additionally, they provide free of cost education to talented students, which will be reduce your financial burden to pay high tuition fees. Moreover, their teaching staff is excellent, use modern technologies, put emphasis on theoretical concepts and clinical working hours for providing best education to their learners. Therefore, I recommend you to apply in the government college for your successful career in the physiotherapy.
For application process, just visit their official website and find best option related to your field. Then, fill admission form and attach original essential documents. You will get confirmation mail from the university after few working days.
I hope my suggestions will be helpful to you in order to get enrollment in one of the best university in our town. Please let me know if you need any help.
Best regards,
Twinkle

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have successfully addressed all three bullet points in the prompt. You provided details about the physiotherapy course, explained why the university is recommended, and offered clear steps for the application process. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend, and the purpose of the letter is clear throughout. To reach a higher band, you could expand slightly more on the 'why' behind your recommendation, perhaps by sharing a personal anecdote about your experience there, which would add more depth to your ideas and better fulfill the 'fully developed' requirement of higher bands.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The letter is logically organized, with each paragraph focusing on a specific requirement of the task. You use transition signals such as 'Additionally', 'Apart from that', and 'Moreover' to connect your ideas. However, some of these transitions feel a bit mechanical or repetitive. The progression of ideas is clear, and the paragraphing is appropriate for a formal letter. To improve, try to vary your cohesive devices and ensure that the flow between sentences feels more natural rather than relying on a standard list of linking words at the start of every paragraph.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your message clearly. You use subject-specific terms like 'anatomy', 'physiology', and 'clinical working hours' effectively. There are some minor errors in word choice, such as 'seek my advise' (should be 'advice') and 'phycology' (likely meant 'psychology'). Additionally, phrases like 'provide free of cost education' could be more naturally phrased as 'tuition-free education'. While your vocabulary is adequate for the task, incorporating more precise collocations and avoiding minor spelling errors would help you achieve a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are several grammatical slips, such as 'which will be reduce your financial burden' (should be 'which will reduce') and 'I suggest you to get admission' (should be 'I suggest that you apply for admission'). There are also minor issues with article usage, such as 'in the government physiotherapy college' (should be 'at a government physiotherapy college'). Despite these errors, your control of grammar is generally good, and the mistakes do not impede communication.
