Dear zalak,

I hope you are doing great. It's been long since we met. I hope we will meet soon. I am writing this letter to suggest some core topics as you selected IT course which I already did.

First and foremost, IT course is best because it's related to the technology which never go down.

I learn a plethora of application software, which help me to find job easily not only the office job but also remote job easily accessible. In addition to that, some coding programs, they assist me to make my own software or we can make game and other useful applications as well.

I am recommended my university because that is well know in our city as well as in state. Moreover, they teach every subject in details, professors are friendly and environment are perfect to study. However, it is easy to apply, you just have to go on collage website, choose the course and fill the form. Whenever, they will select the students, you will receive a email than you have t submit more documents and fees.

Thank you so much for asking mu sug

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The letter covers all three bullet points: it describes the IT course, explains why the university is recommended, and provides application advice. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the advice on how to apply is quite generic, and the description of the course could be more specific to demonstrate a deeper understanding. While the tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend, the response would benefit from more detailed explanations to fully satisfy the requirements of a Band 7 or higher. The letter is clearly written, and the purpose is evident throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost', 'In addition to that', and 'Moreover' are used to link sentences. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are issues with referencing and sentence flow, such as the abrupt shift in the final paragraph regarding the application process. The use of paragraphing is sufficient, but the overall flow could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that ideas within paragraphs are more tightly connected.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate their message clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'plethora' and 'accessible', which are used correctly. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and minor errors, such as 'IT course is best' (should be 'the best') and 'well know' (should be 'well-known'). The spelling error 'mu sug' at the end suggests a lack of proofreading. To improve, the writer should focus on more precise collocations and ensure consistent accuracy in word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the fluency of the text. Examples include 'which never go down' (subject-verb agreement), 'environment are perfect' (should be 'is'), and 'receive a email' (should be 'an email'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage and sentence boundaries. While these errors do not prevent communication, they occur frequently enough to limit the score. Increasing the variety of complex structures while focusing on subject-verb agreement and article usage would improve the score.
