Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to address all parts of the task. While you mention the course topic, you do not provide sufficient details about the university or advice on how to apply. Crucially, the response is significantly under the 150-word minimum, ending abruptly mid-sentence. This lack of development means the task is only partially addressed. To improve, ensure you cover all three bullet points in the prompt and provide enough detail to meet the length requirement. You must also ensure the letter is completed in full, rather than stopping mid-thought.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The letter lacks a clear structure and logical progression. The abrupt ending makes it impossible to evaluate the overall coherence of the piece. While there is a basic attempt at an opening, the lack of paragraphing and the incomplete nature of the text hinder the flow of ideas. To improve, you should plan your response to ensure each bullet point is addressed in a separate paragraph, using linking words to connect your ideas smoothly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive, such as the repeated use of 'course' and 'admission'. There are also errors in word choice, such as 'take admission in that course' instead of 'enrol in the course'. The range of vocabulary is limited, which restricts your ability to express ideas precisely. To reach a higher band, try to use more varied and natural collocations related to university studies and advice-giving.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with verb forms ('I love to helping you') and sentence structure ('As you know this course about constructions, every kind building...'). The sentence fragments and missing articles ('in you previouse time') make the text difficult to follow. You should focus on basic sentence construction, ensuring every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and work on improving your spelling and tense consistency.
