Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have successfully addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: describing the nursing course, recommending the university, and providing application advice. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, while you mention the course is professional and requires continuous reading, you could have elaborated more on why you personally enjoyed it or what specific skills you gained. The advice on how to apply is clear, though it reads more like a set of instructions than a personal letter. Overall, you have fulfilled the requirements of the task effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Therefore', 'Moreso', and 'Finally' to link your ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and the punctuation around them is inconsistent (e.g., missing spaces after commas). The flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing (e.g., 'these' in the second paragraph) is clearer. Paragraphing is present, but the transition between the course description and the recommendation could be smoother.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'professional course', 'mandatory', 'expelled', and 'qualified teachers'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'read nursing as a course' (usually 'studied nursing') and 'it's federal university' (missing an article: 'it is a federal university'). While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey your message clearly, it lacks the precision and variety that would characterize a higher band score. You rely on fairly simple phrasing throughout the letter.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent errors in punctuation and grammar that occasionally distract the reader. For instance, there are several instances of missing spaces after commas and periods, and some run-on sentences. You also have errors with articles ('the school have security officers') and subject-verb agreement. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency of the text. Focusing on basic sentence boundaries and article usage would significantly improve your accuracy.
