Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Riya,
I hope you are doing well. I am extremely grateful to hear that you want to enrol in Bachelor of Business Administration in Project Management in Yorkville University . I had just graduated from this degree, it provides in depth knowledge about how project managers work in real life and what is their responsibility. I learned about the usage of different tools like Smartsheet, Jira, Microsoft Office and so on that’s come handy at work place.
Apart from this, the university fee is too low as compared to other universities so, you can easily manage your expenses alone. The education level of this university is excellent, I got my first field job within months after graduating.
I will send you my referral code by email ,you can easily register with your username name and password. Select your course name and at the end of the form fill this code so you can get $500 off on your tuition fee.
I wish you best of luck for your career. I hope you will enjoy a lot and get hands on useful tools and techniques. Thanks so much for taking my advice.
Your faithful,
Sukhwinder

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have successfully addressed all three bullet points in the prompt. You provided details about the BBA in Project Management, explained why the university is a good choice (affordability and career prospects), and gave clear, actionable advice on how to apply using a referral code. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. To reach a higher band, you could expand slightly more on the 'real-life' aspects of the course or provide more personal insight into why you enjoyed it, which would further develop your ideas and make the letter feel more authentic and engaging.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized, with each paragraph focusing on a specific requirement of the task. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Apart from this' and 'I hope', to link your ideas. However, the transition between the course description and the university benefits could be smoother. Additionally, the paragraphing is a bit fragmented; the final two sentences could be better integrated into the preceding paragraph to improve the flow. Overall, the message is easy to follow, and the progression of ideas is clear throughout the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for this task, using terms like 'enrol', 'in-depth knowledge', and 'tuition fee'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'I had just graduated from this degree' (should be 'graduated from this program') and 'username name' (a repetition error). While you use some relevant terminology related to the course, the vocabulary is generally functional rather than sophisticated. To improve, try to incorporate more varied adjectives and adverbs to express your enthusiasm and provide more descriptive detail about your experience.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical slips, such as 'that’s come handy' (should be 'that come in handy') and 'I wish you best of luck' (should be 'I wish you the best of luck'). The closing 'Your faithful' is also incorrect; 'Yours faithfully' or 'Best regards' would be more appropriate. While these errors are noticeable, they do not impede communication. To achieve a higher score, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles, and try to incorporate a wider variety of complex sentence forms with greater accuracy.
