Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have successfully addressed all three bullet points in the prompt. You provided details about the MBA course, explained the benefits of the university, and offered clear steps for the application process. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. To improve, you could expand slightly on the 'why' regarding the university recommendation to provide more depth. For instance, mentioning specific facilities or the reputation of the faculty would make your advice more persuasive and better developed. Overall, the task is fully addressed with a clear and consistent purpose throughout the letter.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized with clear paragraphing. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Furthermore', and 'Finally' to guide the reader through your points. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes a bit mechanical. For example, the transition in the second paragraph ('In other words you not gonna major in specific subject this is includes...') is slightly disjointed and lacks proper punctuation to link the ideas smoothly. Improving the use of relative clauses and more varied linking words would help the ideas flow more naturally and elevate the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for this task, using terms like 'entrepreneurship', 'tuition fees', and 'financial planner'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'practical bases' (should be 'practical basis') and 'fill it up your details' (should be 'fill in your details'). Additionally, the use of informal contractions like 'gonna' is acceptable in a friendly letter, but the overall range is somewhat limited. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise academic or professional collocations and avoid repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'you not gonna major' (missing auxiliary verb), 'this is includes' (incorrect verb form), and 'I will waiting' (incorrect tense). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with missing commas in complex sentences. While these errors do not prevent the message from being understood, they occur frequently enough to limit the score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage will significantly improve your accuracy.
