Technological Institute of the Philippines (TIP) was excellence on teaching this kind of course. The professor in this institute are mostly doctorate, they are not only expert on teaching major subject but also on mechanical works too.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The letter addresses all three bullet points: it describes the Mechanical Technical Engineering course, explains why the university is recommended, and provides advice on the application process. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the advice on how to apply is quite generic (e.g., 'prepare yourself mentally and physically'). To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific, actionable steps for the application process, such as mentioning entrance exams, document requirements, or deadlines. The content is relevant, but the depth of explanation could be improved to fully satisfy the requirements of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is logically organized into paragraphs, with each paragraph focusing on a specific requirement of the prompt. There is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat basic and repetitive. You rely heavily on simple transitions like 'also' and 'if'. To improve, try using a wider variety of linking words and phrases to connect your sentences and ideas more fluidly, such as 'Furthermore,' 'In addition to this,' or 'Consequently.' Paragraphing is present, but the transitions between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother to enhance the overall flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You use some repetitive phrasing, such as 'this course' and 'mechanical works.' There are also some word-choice errors, such as 'academical subject' (should be 'academic subjects') and 'excellence on teaching' (should be 'excellent at teaching'). To improve, aim to use more precise terminology related to university studies and avoid repeating the same words. Expanding your range of adjectives and adverbs would also help to make your writing more descriptive and engaging for your friend.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'I have learn' (should be 'I have learned'), 'The professor... are' (subject-verb agreement error), and 'financially prepare' (should be 'financially prepared'). Additionally, there are minor punctuation and spelling errors, such as 'semister' and 'Sincerly'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, and proofreading for spelling will significantly improve your accuracy.
