I took master of engineering in electrical and computer at University of Windsor, which is well-known for Master programs. I have 8 subjects to study in total throughout my graduation so I had to enrolled in minimum 2 subjects every semesters. You can take 3 or 5 terms depends on your situations.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

You have successfully addressed all three bullet points in the prompt. You provided details about your Master of Engineering course, explained why you recommend the University of Windsor by highlighting the faculty and facilities, and gave clear instructions on how to apply via the university website. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend, maintaining a friendly and helpful persona throughout. The ideas are relevant and sufficiently developed to meet the requirements of the task. To reach a higher band, ensure that you provide slightly more depth in your explanations, such as describing how the specific facilities directly benefited your learning experience.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is logically organized, with each paragraph focusing on a specific requirement of the task. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Along with that', 'Also', and 'In order to' to link your ideas. However, the flow between some sentences is slightly mechanical, and the use of referencing could be more sophisticated. For instance, the transition between the course description and the university facilities could be smoother. Paragraphing is used correctly to separate the different topics, which helps the reader follow your argument easily. Improving the variety of linking words would enhance the overall cohesion.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey your message clearly. You use some subject-specific terms like 'bachelor in engineering' and 'fees structure'. However, there are some minor inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'I had to enrolled' (should be 'I had to enroll') and 'plentiful facilities' (which sounds slightly unnatural; 'excellent' or 'extensive' would be better). While your vocabulary is sufficient for the task, it lacks the precision and variety of less common lexical items that would be required for a higher band score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is always clear, there are several grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'I knew you are done' (should be 'I know you are done'), 'every semesters' (should be 'every semester'), and 'depends on your situations' (should be 'depending on your situation'). Additionally, there are some minor punctuation and article usage issues. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage will help improve your accuracy.
