Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response effectively covers all bullet points required by the prompt. You gave details of the course by mentioning the general MBA at University Canada West and your focus on finance-related classes. You explained why you recommend the university by highlighting the friendly environment, supportive professors, and modern technological equipment. Finally, you provided advice on how to apply, suggesting students look into scholarships and noting that applying in person is best. The purpose of the letter is clear, and the tone is appropriately friendly. However, some ideas are slightly underdeveloped or lack complete clarity due to phrasing issues, which places this submission firmly at a Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is divided into logical paragraphs, with each paragraph addressing a distinct aspect of the prompt (course details in paragraph one, university recommendation in paragraph two, and application advice in paragraph three). Cohesive devices are used, such as 'First and foremost', 'Besides this', and 'Although', but referencing and linking can occasionally feel mechanical or awkward, as seen with 'Afterthat, all process regarding fees will be online.' Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate ideas, ensuring an overall coherent arrangement that allows the reader to follow the progression of advice easily. This performance corresponds to a Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, but contains noticeable errors in word choice, form, and collocation. For example, writing 'courses which you want to opted in' instead of 'opted for' or 'chose', and 'rating of the all teachers' instead of 'ratings of all the teachers'. There are also spelling mistakes such as 'coyrses', 'freindly', 'anot' (for 'not'), 'aslo', 'techinical', 'recuritment', and 'Ihope'. While you attempt some less common vocabulary ('cooperative', 'obstacles', 'scholarship'), inaccuracies restrict the score to Band 5.0 because these errors occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as conditional and concessive clauses ('Although you get admission online...'). However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the letter, including missing prepositions, incorrect verb forms ('which you want to opted in'), subject-verb agreement issues ('this university also give employment opportunity'), and awkward phrasing ('it is not worries to fill fees'). Punctuation and capitalization errors also appear at the start of sentences ('it give scholarship', 'Ihope you well pay'). These frequent errors mean the grammar sits comfortably at a Band 5.0 level.
