Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response successfully covers all three bullet points required by the prompt in a semi-formal letter style suitable to a friend. The student gives specific details of the course, stating they are studying 'BBA Genral' with 40 subjects and 120 credit hours in total. Furthermore, the university is recommended based on its flexibility, allowing students to fast-track a four-year course into two and a half years. Finally, practical advice about how to apply is provided by directing the friend to the EducationPlannerBC website. The tone is appropriate for writing to a friend, and all parts of the task are adequately addressed. Although some ideas could be slightly more expanded, the overall coverage meets the requirements for a Band 6.5 to 7.0 range, and we award 6.5 as the ideas are sometimes briefly expressed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter exhibits a coherent overall arrangement divided into logical paragraphs covering the greeting, course details, recommendation reasons, and application steps. However, cohesion is at times faulty and mechanical. For instance, transitional phrases between sentences are occasionally missing or awkward, as seen in 'As there are 40 Subject I want to complete almost 25 course...' and 'Why I personally recommend this University As they are giving a flexibility...'. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate distinct points, but referencing and sentence linking could be smoother. Overall, the organization is clear enough to follow easily, supporting a Band 6.0 score.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some topic-specific terms such as 'specialization', 'credit hours', 'liberal arts subjects', and 'admission'. However, there are numerous spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'Sudy' instead of 'study', 'Genral' instead of 'General', 'Rightnow' instead of 'right now', 'course' instead of 'courses', 'Bussiness' instead of 'business', and 'speedy' instead of 'fast' or 'rapidly'. These errors do not impede communication since the reader can easily understand the intended meaning, but they prevent the score from rising above Band 6.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some capability to handle multi-clause structures, such as 'As there are 40 Subject I want to complete almost 25 course related to Bussiness And rest will Be liberal Arts Subjects.' However, there are frequent punctuation and grammatical errors, including missing capitalisation ('hope', 'educationplannerbc'), incorrect punctuation in questions ('Hello How are you and how your life going on.'), subject-verb agreement issues, and awkward phrasing like 'how speedy you want to complete the course its 4 years course'. These errors occur consistently throughout the text, though they rarely impede communication, placing the writing firmly at Band 5.5.
