Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response successfully covers all three bullet points required in the prompt. You gave details of the course you took, mentioning it was Financial Analytics at Trend University as a two-year program with specific assessment methods and a 4-month placement. You also explained why you recommend the university, citing excellent education, facilities, professional teachers, and high scholarship availability. Finally, you gave advice on how to apply through the university website or local internet cafes. The tone is appropriate for a friendly letter, and all ideas are relevant. However, some points, such as the exam structure and application advice, are slightly repetitive or basic in development, which aligns best with Band 6.0 descriptors.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organised into two main body paragraphs following a standard greeting and sign-off, providing a coherent overall arrangement. There is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices and transition words, such as 'Moreover', 'Furthermore', and 'Above', but some transitions feel mechanical or awkward, like starting a sentence abruptly with 'So if we have any doubts'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, for instance in phrases like 'the exam conducted on 100 marks each subjects'. Paragraphing is used, but the second paragraph combines multiple distinct ideas, including recommendations, scholarships, and application steps, without smooth logical progression, placing this performance at a Band 6.0 level.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your message clearly. You attempted some less common vocabulary items such as 'financial analytics', 'pathway', 'fruitful', and 'scholarships'. However, there are notable word choice and collocation inaccuracies throughout the text, such as 'classes will be conduct through the offline' instead of offline or in-person classes, 'major exams on the end' instead of at the end, and 'recomment' instead of recommend. Additionally, spelling errors like 'eligibe' and 'proffesionalised' detract from precision. These limitations place your lexical resource score firmly at Band 5.5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrated a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating conditional structures like 'if you are eligible this is the excellent opportunity' and relative clauses. However, there are frequent grammatical errors in verb forms, prepositions, and articles. Examples include 'the university course that I was applying recently' (incorrect tense and voice), 'classes will be conduct' (passive voice error), and 'three theory subjects and three practical subjects'. Punctuation is also occasionally weak, with spaces missing after periods and commas. While these errors do not severely impede communication, their frequency prevents the writing from reaching Band 6.0, making Band 5.5 a fair reflection of your current grammatical control.
