Dear Jess,
I hope you are doing well. I am writing this letter regarding the course which I took in Toronto Metropolitan University.
I took Office administration in health services, this is short term course however, very beneficial and has a good scope in future. In this course, you will know about Medical Terminology, financing and learn alot more things regarding how to do scheduling to the patients, how to bill to their insurance.
I will recommend my university because this university will give you many options and benefits, they will provide you computer or laptop and pay for your commute from home to school. Also, the mentors over here are very knowledgeable and supportive.
Now, I want to lyk about how you can apply, go to their online website www.tmu.com from their just submit your application, there will be some questionaires make sure to answer those properly and then apply for earliest semester. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The response successfully covers all the bullet points outlined in the prompt. You gave details of the course by mentioning Office Administration in Health Services and subjects like Medical Terminology and insurance billing. You explained why you recommend the university by highlighting the supportive mentors and practical benefits like commuting support and equipment provision. Finally, you gave advice on how to apply through their online website and questionnaires. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend, fulfilling the general training letter-writing requirements well. All parts are addressed clearly, warranting a solid band score for this criterion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter is generally coherent and easy to follow with a clear overall layout. Paragraphs are used to separate different topics, such as course details, recommendations, and application steps. However, some transitions are a bit abrupt, and cohesive devices are used somewhat simply. For example, sentences in the second paragraph run together with comma splices, such as in 'I took Office administration in health services, this is short term course however, very beneficial'. Improving punctuation and transitional phrases would enhance the flow and logical progression between ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use a sufficient range of vocabulary to communicate your message effectively, including terms like 'Medical Terminology', 'supportive', and 'knowledgeable'. However, there are some informal abbreviations like 'lyk' instead of 'let you know', and minor lexical inaccuracies such as 'good scope in future' and 'scheduling to the patients'. To reach a higher band, aim to incorporate more precise and less common collocations naturally while avoiding overly casual text-speak in formal or semi-formal writing tasks.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The response includes a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors and punctuation issues, notably comma splices (e.g., 'In this course, you will know about Medical Terminology, financing and learn alot more things regarding how to do scheduling to the patients, how to bill to their insurance') and preposition errors ('bill to their insurance' instead of 'bill their insurance'). Furthermore, note that 'alot' should be written as two words ('a lot'). Despite these errors, meaning is generally clear throughout.
