Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, successfully covering the details of the course, recommendations for the university, and advice about how to apply. However, some aspects are more fully developed than others. For instance, the explanation of the course includes specific details like '1 year' and subjects like 'frontend coding', but the advice on how to apply is slightly rushed and relies on a list of instructional points rather than fully extended ideas. The tone is appropriate for an informal letter to a friend, maintaining a clear purpose throughout, though further expansion on the university's benefits would elevate the content.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The letter maintains a coherent overall arrangement with a clear, logical structure that follows the progression of greeting, course details, recommendation, application advice, and sign-off. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas, such as grouping the university recommendation and the application steps into their own sections. However, referencing and cohesion are occasionally mechanical or slightly faulty, as seen in transitions like 'Instead of waisting time in queue better to applied online' and the sudden shift between sentences. While the connections between ideas are generally understandable, more fluent cohesive devices would improve the flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common words and industry-specific terms such as 'frontend coding', 'live projects', and 'stiphend'. However, there are noticeable lexical errors in word choice, word form, and spelling that occasionally distract the reader, such as 'waisting' instead of wasting, 'latets' instead of latest, 'signtaure' instead of signature, and 'recieved' instead of received. While communication is not severely impeded, these repeated mechanical and spelling inaccuracies prevent the lexical score from reaching a higher level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writing demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but errors in grammar and punctuation are frequent enough to cause some difficulty for the reader. There are issues with verb forms and tenses, such as 'I Hope you are sound good!', 'you also thinking', and 'its last date for form submission will be'. Additionally, issues with prepositions and articles appear throughout, such as 'in queue' instead of in a queue and 'applied online' instead of apply online. While these errors rarely completely obscure the meaning, the control over complex grammatical structures remains limited.
