Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address the three requested points: you mention that you completed the course a year ago, recommend the university, and suggest applying online or speaking to an administrator. The advice that the course is affordable and in demand gives your recommendation some relevant support. However, the course itself is not described in enough detail: the reader learns little about what you studied or what the course involved. The reasons for recommending the university are also quite general, such as calling it popular and saying people are helpful. Add specific details about the subject, teaching or facilities, and give clearer, practical application steps to make the letter more fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The letter has a recognisable structure, with an opening, separate paragraphs for your recommendation and application advice, and a closing. Sequencing words such as “Firstly” and “Secondly” help signal the topics. However, the progression is not always smooth: the opening combines several ideas in a long, confusing sentence, and “Secondly” introduces course information even though the paragraph mainly explains how to apply. Some links are mechanical, and the shift between the course details and the university recommendation could be clearer. Organise the body around the three task points, use a separate paragraph for each, and connect ideas with clearer references and transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for the situation, including “course,” “university,” “in demand,” “apply online,” and “admin officer.” However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make the letter less clear or natural, including “heared,” “dicision,” “compeleted,” and “applay.” Phrases such as “a most popular” and “this university people” are also awkward. These issues fit a basic, repetitive vocabulary range, with errors that sometimes make the reader pause. Build accuracy by checking common application-related words and learning natural collocations, such as “submit an application” and “the university’s staff are helpful.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, for example, “If you want a applay for this course…” and “If you don't understand how to applay online so you can also go…”. However, the longer constructions are often faulty, and errors with tense, articles, agreement and sentence boundaries occur frequently. In “I heared from you like you want a did that course,” the clause structure is difficult to follow; “I completed my study 1 year ago” also needs a more accurate noun and verb pattern. Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, including the comma splice in the opening. Use shorter, complete sentences first, then practise joining them accurately with “because,” “if,” and “so.”
