Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.5
The letter addresses all three requested points and maintains an appropriate, friendly tone. You describe the Business Insights and Analytics course, including its focus on big data and machine learning, professional instructors, a capstone project and an internship. You also give several reasons to choose the university and offer two application routes, with a practical reminder about documents. These details make the advice useful and the purpose clear. Some claims, such as the university being “one of the reputed” and having “high end infrastructure,” remain broad; a specific example or brief explanation of how these features benefit your friend would develop the recommendation more fully. Overall, the key ideas are extended and supported, though a few points are generalised.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The information follows a clear, sensible sequence: you introduce the course, explain its content, recommend the university, and then give application advice. Separate paragraphs help the reader identify each part of the letter, while transitions such as “Additionally,” “Moreover,” and “Once again” guide the progression. The friendly opening and closing also frame the message effectively. Cohesion is generally clear, although several sentences in the university paragraph repeat “The university,” making the linking somewhat mechanical. You could vary this with references such as “It” or “This institution,” and connect related benefits more explicitly. The organisation is strong overall, with some room for more flexible linking and referencing.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the subject and university context, including “machine learning,” “capstone project,” “internship,” and “diverse environment.” These choices communicate the course’s practical focus and the institution’s appeal. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice or collocation problems, including “opportunties,” “instrutors,” “alumia network,” and “high end infrastructure.” Phrases such as “trained from market professional” and “one of the reputed university” are also unnatural, which reduces precision even though the intended meaning is usually understandable. Aim to check spelling carefully and learn common word partnerships, especially when describing staff, reputation, facilities, and career benefits.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The letter includes both straightforward statements and longer sentences with subordinate clauses, for example, “I am confident that once you complete this course it will open…” This shows some range, and the message remains easy to follow despite errors. Several grammatical patterns need more control: “considering to study” should use a gerund, “one of the most popular course” needs a plural noun, and “the university offer” requires subject–verb agreement. There are also article and number issues in “you will have capstone project” and “students … studies.” Review agreement, articles, and plural forms, then proofread each sentence. More consistently accurate complex sentences would strengthen the overall control.
