Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three points: you identify your course as a Master’s in Business, explain that it supports your goal of running a business, recommend UCW for its extra classes and helpful teachers, and advise your friend to apply through the university website. These details make the letter relevant and give it a clear purpose. However, some points are less fully developed than others. For example, the course description is brief, and the application advice does not explain what information or documents to prepare or how to complete the process. Add one or two specific details about the course and practical application steps to make your advice more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter follows a sensible overall order: you begin with a personal greeting, describe your studies, explain your recommendation, and finish with application advice and a sign-off. Paragraph breaks help distinguish these main points, and phrases such as “because” and “So” show some connections between ideas. At times, however, the links feel mechanical or the references are unclear, as in “by this i leaned basic things about the business.” The transition from your reasons for choosing the subject to the university’s benefits could also be smoother. Use clearer linking phrases and make sure each paragraph develops one main point before moving to the next.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including relevant course and university terms such as “Master’s in Business,” “real projects,” “fees installments,” and “library access.” The range is limited, though, and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision: “recemmond,” “meed,” and “business study” are examples. Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “you will planning to study a same course” and “apply it online.” These do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, but they make it less fluent. Build a wider set of natural phrases for describing courses, facilities, and application procedures, and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You communicate using mostly simple sentence patterns, with some attempts to connect ideas through clauses, as in “because as you know i want to set up my own business.” The meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors occur in verb forms, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “you will planning” should be “you are planning,” and “a same course” should be “the same course.” In “I highly recommend to you join UCW,” the verb pattern needs correction: “I highly recommend that you join UCW.” There are also punctuation and capitalisation slips, including lowercase “i” and spaces before full stops. Practise accurate sentence patterns while adding more varied structures.
