Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear Sahil,

I hope this letter finds you well. I feel glad to hear about you are interested to get admission in my university for the same course MBA finance. I would definately say this is the best decision for your future.

Actually, I took admission for MBA finance at The Gujarat Technological University after my graduation. I think that was my best decision ever. I have interest in accounting and finance. So, I had selected this 2 years course. This university has taken their 5th rank in top best university all over India. I got full knowledge of finance in this course. After 1st year teachers gave task for making projects related to different topics such as corporate budget, customer service, cost management and corporate ethics. These can help to improve throughout knowledge of subject. In 2nd year, we had a group study in which teacher give one topic to every group of class and groups had to make a slideshow of company in which they can mention financial and descriptive details of company.

I truly recommend this course in GTU because I had a exceptional experience with it. In this university you will get both theoretical and practical knowledge of couse. It also encourage sports activities by weekly. Moreover, It also arrange an Industrial visit for students knowledge. In end of semester, The university arrange a placement fair where you can show your abilities and skill to get your dream job.

You can simply apply by university website or In person at university.

I hope this all information help you for your admission.

Your faithfully,

Vidhi

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

The letter addresses all three requested points and maintains a clear, friendly recommendation. You describe the MBA Finance course with useful specifics, including its two-year duration, project topics, group presentations and practical learning. Your reasons for recommending GTU are also supported by details about sports, industrial visits and a placement fair. The application advice, however, is much less developed: “by university website or In person at university” gives two options but no guidance on what to prepare or where to find requirements. The claim that the university is ranked fifth is also not explained or connected to a source. Develop these points slightly further, while keeping the personal tone, to make the advice more fully supported.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The information is arranged in a sensible sequence: you introduce the course, explain its content, give reasons for recommending the university, and finish with application advice. Paragraph breaks help distinguish these purposes, and transitions such as “Actually,” “Moreover,” and “In 2nd year” guide the reader through the details. This clear overall progression is a strength. Some linking is repetitive or mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “also,” and the long course-description paragraph contains several details that could be grouped more deliberately. The final application advice is very brief compared with the preceding sections. Use a wider range of natural transitions and connect related examples more smoothly to make the organisation feel more consistently controlled.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough vocabulary to explain the course and its activities, including terms such as “corporate budget,” “cost management,” “theoretical and practical knowledge,” and “placement fair.” These specific expressions make the letter informative. However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or unnatural, as in “taken their 5th rank,” “improve throughout knowledge,” and “show your abilities and skill.” There are also spelling and form errors, including “definately” and “couse,” alongside repeated general words such as “course,” “university,” and “knowledge.” These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points, but they limit precision and fluency. Build accuracy by learning common academic and application-related word combinations and checking spelling.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The letter includes both simple statements and attempts at more complex sentences, for example, “After 1st year teachers gave task for making projects related to different topics such as…” This shows an effort to explain sequences and give examples. However, errors occur across sentence patterns, verb forms, agreement, articles and prepositions. Examples include “I feel glad to hear about you are interested,” “I had interest,” and “teacher give one topic.” Some sentences also have unclear or awkward grammatical relationships, such as “These can help to improve throughout knowledge of subject.” The closing “Your faithfully” is another grammatical inaccuracy. Practise accurate clause construction and consistent past-tense narration, and proofread for articles and subject–verb agreement; this will make your meaning easier to follow.
