Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address all three requested points: you mention studying art and science, give reasons for recommending Oxford (teachers, the library and its reputation), and offer application instructions. However, the course details are very brief, and the reasons for choosing the university are mostly listed rather than explained. The application advice is more specific, but details such as the website and required documents would benefit from clearer, reliable wording. The letter is also five words below the required minimum of 150, so it does not fully meet the task requirements. Add a little more about what you studied and why the university suited you, and ensure the final letter reaches the required length.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a broadly sensible order: it introduces the purpose, discusses the university, and then moves to application advice. This gives the reader an overall route through the letter. However, the ideas are crowded into two long paragraphs, and links such as “As per my suggestion” and “As per my advice” sound repetitive and do not always show the relationship between points clearly. The final application details also run together. Use separate paragraphs for course experience, recommendation, and application steps, and connect each point with straightforward transitions such as “I recommend it because” and “To apply, first…” This would make the organisation clearer and cohesion less mechanical.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “course,” “creative ways,” “library,” “documents,” and “online.” This is enough to communicate the general subject of the letter, but the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make parts difficult to understand. For example, “course of details,” “best curriculam,” and “most second number” are not natural expressions, while “peacefull” and “photogaph” are misspelled. Aim for accurate, natural phrases rather than translating directly: describe the course content, teaching quality, and university ranking in conventional terms. More precise vocabulary would help you explain your recommendation and application advice clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The letter communicates its main purpose, but grammatical control is limited, and errors often make sentences difficult to follow. For example, “I am writing you about a course of details when i took” has problems with the verb pattern and clause structure, while “my course subject art and science” lacks a complete sentence structure. Verb forms and agreement are also unclear in “i was student iam go library.” Most sentences rely on simple statements or fragments, with little accurate use of complex structures. Practise complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check articles, tense, and punctuation. For example: “I studied art and science at Oxford, where I often used the library in the evenings.”
