Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The letter addresses all three requested points and maintains a friendly, appropriate tone. You identify the course as a Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Business Management, list subjects studied, explain why you recommend Cape Breton University, and give practical application advice about gathering documents and using the university website. These details make the response relevant and give your friend a clear overall picture. The recommendation is supported by several reasons, including modern facilities, professors, a writing centre, activities, and a welcoming environment, although these benefits are mostly listed rather than illustrated with personal examples. To strengthen the letter further, explain one or two benefits in more detail and clarify what you mean by “letter of learning” so the application advice is precise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The information follows a clear, logical sequence: you open by responding to your friend, describe the course, explain your recommendation, and then offer application advice before closing. Separate paragraphs help the reader identify each part of the letter, and linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “After gathering” support progression. The friendly opening and sign-off also suit the purpose. Some connections are less smooth, particularly “I am suggesting this course and university because” followed by a list, and “At this collage you will not only feel supported but more opportunities also you will be able to explore.” The latter makes the relationship between the ideas difficult to follow. Use clearer sentence links and parallel phrasing to make the progression more natural.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use vocabulary relevant to university study and applications, including “Post Baccalaureate Diploma,” “accounting,” “transcripts,” and “extra-curricular activities.” This gives the letter enough topic-specific language to communicate its main points. However, spelling errors and imprecise word choices are noticeable, for example “enterprenurship,” “stastics,” “stratagic,” “collage,” and “hwlpful.” Some phrases are also unnatural or unclear, such as “letter of learning,” “get an admission,” and “this data.” These issues sometimes make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Check spelling carefully and choose conventional expressions for university applications, such as “gain admission,” “academic records,” and “this information.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response includes both simple statements and attempts at longer, more complex sentences, such as the sentence beginning “Moreover” and the advice sentence beginning “After gathering.” The overall meaning remains understandable, but errors in verb forms, sentence construction, articles, and punctuation are frequent enough to affect fluency. For example, “I was so much excited after hear” needs a corrected adjective construction and verb form, while “the most interesting part was in this course was” contains a duplicated structure. In “After gethering all this papers,” the opening clause and determiner do not fit the following noun phrase. Practise building longer sentences from accurate clauses, and proofread for verb forms, agreement, and sentence boundaries.
