Dear .................. ,
Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Jasmeet,
I am writing this letter to give a advice about studying this subject at the University Of Winnipeg.
I have been graduated last year from the University of Winnipeg, which is located in the heart of city that is downtown. I persuded my graduation in Marketing Management with grade A+ and I was awarded as the best student of year.
I will recommend you to take a admission at the University of Winnipeg because it ranks top four in the university ranking as recorded recently. The professors are quite educated and highly skilled in their field. You will feel peace and relax here.
You can apply here with a help of agent from India itself as you have to pass the IELTS exam with 7 overall band in each module. Without IELTS you will not get a visa. You can also apply on University portal directly if you dont want an agent.
I hope you this letter will help you in further process.
Yours lovingly,
Tarun

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three points: you identify your Marketing Management course, give reasons for recommending the University of Winnipeg, and explain two application routes. The details about your A+ grade and student award add a personal touch, while the IELTS requirement is practical advice. However, some claims are unclear or insufficiently explained, such as the university ranking “top four” (without saying among which institutions) and the statement that IELTS is needed “to get a visa.” The course description itself is also brief. To strengthen the letter, add a specific detail about what you studied or enjoyed, and clarify the ranking and application requirements. The friendly opening and closing suit the purpose well.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall arrangement: it introduces its purpose, describes your studies, gives reasons to choose the university, and ends with application advice and a closing. Paragraphing helps the reader follow these stages, and links such as “because” and “also” make relationships between ideas clear. Some connections are less smooth, however. The shift from your academic achievement to the university’s ranking is abrupt, and “I hope you this letter will help you in further process” does not clearly refer back to the application advice. Use a more natural closing sentence and add a brief transition between your personal experience and your recommendation. This would make the progression more consistently fluent.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “Marketing Management,” “professors,” “IELTS exam,” and “University portal,” so the main message is understandable. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “highly skilled” and “in the heart of city.” However, several noticeable word-choice, collocation, spelling, and word-form problems limit precision: “persuded my graduation,” “take a admission,” “feel peace and relax,” and “dont” are not natural or accurate in this context. Some phrases, such as “educated” for professors, are also imprecise. Build a bank of natural expressions for courses and applications, and check spelling and collocations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You communicate the main ideas using both simple sentences and some longer structures, including the relative clause “which is located…” and the conditional phrase “if you dont want an agent.” Most sentences remain understandable, but errors in verb forms, articles, and sentence construction are noticeable. For example, “I have been graduated last year” should use a simple past form, and “I hope you this letter will help” is missing a grammatical link such as “that.” Article use is also inaccurate in “a advice” and “a admission.” Practise checking each sentence for a complete structure, correct tense, and article choice. More accurate control of these patterns would make your advice easier to read.
