Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays, the people wish to travel to different places and to explore new things. This habit will definitely increase, because in future the commutation would become more convenient and developed. So, I strongly disagree with the statement that, in the future the people will opt their own country instead of going to different countries to enjoy their holidays.

To begin with, advanced developments has introduced in the field of transportation. In future high speed rails connecting major cities of different countries would make travelling more easier than before. For instance, most of the European countries agreed to give access for a common air route for all the countries in order to minimize the flying hours. This would build opportunity for the people to travel all over the world in limited time.

Moreover, in future the travelling cost become cheaper and affordable to everyone. Now the people spending holiday in their own country due to the higher flight ticket price. This resist middle class families from going abroad. In addition to this, they are really bored of flying long hours. But after some decades, these situation will change and once travelling become more affordable, everyone will choose to go on holiday to different countries.

In conclusion, I hope going abroad

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, as it is significantly under-length at 209 words. Furthermore, the essay is incomplete, ending abruptly in the conclusion. While you clearly state your position and provide relevant arguments regarding transportation and cost, the lack of a full conclusion and the insufficient length mean the task is not fully addressed. To improve, ensure you develop your ideas more thoroughly with specific examples and always complete your essay structure to provide a sense of closure.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay uses basic cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion' to signal the structure. However, the progression of ideas is hindered by the incomplete nature of the text. Paragraphing is present, but the abrupt ending disrupts the overall flow. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider range of cohesive devices to link sentences and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, fully developed topic sentence that connects logically to the next.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You rely on simple phrases like 'different places' and 'different countries'. There are also some collocation issues, such as 'commutation would become more convenient' (should be 'transportation' or 'travel') and 'introduced in the field' (should be 'introduced to the field'). To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to tourism and global travel, and focus on using more precise collocations to express your ideas more naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'the people wish' (unnecessary article), 'advanced developments has introduced' (subject-verb agreement error), and 'these situation will change' (plural/singular mismatch). While you attempt some complex sentence structures, they are often marred by these errors. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. Proofreading your work for basic grammatical consistency will help you achieve a higher score.
