Student answer (Band 7.0)

It is an undeniable fact that a person should spend sufficient amount of time periodically on vacations, as it is a significant part and parcel of successful lifestyle. Some individuals anticipate that general populace will be more inquisitive for intra-national travelling rather than international, which definitely make sense. The essay will contain the practical propositions behind this scenario.

Foremost among all responsible reasons, one primitive is to get more familiar with own country's culture and countryside rituals. In this fast paced world, youth will be more inclined to explore the nation at grass-root level, and for that, will make an effort to visit the countryside and rural area more often. For instance, young generation seems impressively interested to spend quality time with their grand-parents during summer-vacations, and are keen to explore crop rotations, horse riding, animal husbandry or water irrigation techniques, as we see in Europeans. Added to this, the smart generation will be more thoughtful amongst the country's economy, such as in national tourism business. In future, people will visit their own country's popular places and will make efforts to contribute to the small businesses, domestic hotels or resorts.

Furthermore, the exhaustion of flight discrepancy and luggage misplacement are not uncommon these days for international travellers. As a reason of this, the relaxing time sometimes turns into chaotic situation for travellers. To avoid this chaos people are already been inclined to avoid international travelling other than business purposes. Additionally, the flight fares are on peak nowadays and will be continued as per recent data. Therefore, middle class people will prefer affordable domestic vacation trips over the expensive ones.

To encapsulate all aforementioned points, there are a plethora of reasons responsible for inclination towards the domestic vacations.I am of the firm conviction that to avoid expenses, explore countryside, and support own country people will choose own country for vacations.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, providing a clear position that domestic tourism will increase. The ideas are relevant, focusing on cultural exploration, economic benefits, and the avoidance of travel-related stress. While the arguments are logical, some points, such as the reference to 'Europeans' regarding irrigation techniques, are slightly tangential and could have been more directly linked to the core argument of domestic holiday trends. The position is consistent throughout, and the conclusion effectively summarizes the main points. To reach a higher band, ensure that all examples are tightly focused on the specific topic of domestic versus international holiday choices.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each paragraph has a central theme, such as cultural benefits or the practical drawbacks of international travel. Cohesive devices like 'Foremost among all', 'Added to this', and 'Furthermore' are used to guide the reader through the argument. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally imprecise, such as the phrase 'As a reason of this'. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas, contributing to the overall flow of the essay.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task. There are some attempts at more sophisticated language, such as 'intra-national', 'plethora', and 'firm conviction'. However, there are instances of awkward collocation and word choice, such as 'primitive' used to mean 'reason' or 'factor', and 'flight discrepancy' which is not a standard term for travel issues. While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise usage of academic vocabulary. The range is sufficient to convey the intended meaning clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'people are already been inclined' (should be 'have been') and 'will be continued as per recent data' (passive voice misuse). Additionally, there are minor issues with articles and prepositions, such as 'support own country people'. Despite these errors, the meaning remains clear throughout the text. The student shows an ability to construct complex sentences, but the control over these structures is inconsistent, which is characteristic of the Band 6 level.
