Student answer (Band 7.0)

In the contemporary era, a growing segment of the population is favoring vacation in the home country rather than enjoying abroad. I partially agree with the notion due to easy accessibility of tourist visa and strong desire to attend various events. However, there are a number of hidden gems in the home country that entice citizens visit them.

It has been observed that public has goals to visit various places. Although in the past, it was a daunting task because unavailability of required information on visas, it is incredibly easy from various platforms such as social media or websites which provide thorough information. Moreover, youngsters found a unique way to earn money where they do not required to work under an employer instead they can be self-employed by content creation and brand endorsements. As a result, this approach offers a long vacation as going abroad need more than fifteen days usually. A notable example are travel vloggers, who are travelling most of the months in a year and financially stable.

On the contrary, the growth of social media uncovers unpopular places in motherland which are worthy to visit once in a life. Therefore, individuals inclined towards this approach which is budget-friendly, easy to transport and exploring cultures in-depth. Additionally, there are a certain events occur at a particular time of the year and related places cannot be experienced than homeland. An empirical evidence is the Navaratri which is taking place around the month October in Gujarat state which is most attended event in that state by migrants.

In conclusion, because of it is easy to obtain tourist visa people are fond of achieving goals of vacation and also content creation provides leverage of longer holiday. Conversely, citizens like to explore the motherland which is unfolded by social media and to experience festivals that cannot happen anywhere else in the world.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

You have addressed all parts of the prompt by discussing both the trend toward domestic travel and the reasons for international travel. Your position is clear from the introduction, and you provide relevant examples, such as travel vloggers and the Navaratri festival. However, the development of your ideas is occasionally hindered by unclear phrasing. For instance, the link between 'content creation' and 'longer holidays' is a bit tenuous and could be explained more explicitly to ensure the reader fully grasps your logic. To reach a higher band, ensure that every supporting point directly reinforces your central argument without requiring the reader to infer the connection.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

Your essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. You use cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'On the contrary', and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader through your argument. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are instances where referencing is unclear, such as in the final paragraph where 'it' is used without a precise antecedent. Additionally, the flow between sentences could be improved by varying your sentence starters and ensuring that the logical progression from one idea to the next is smoother. Overall, the structure is coherent, but the management of cohesive devices could be more sophisticated.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'contemporary era', 'daunting task', and 'empirical evidence'. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'enjoying abroad' (should be 'traveling abroad') and 'related places cannot be experienced than homeland' (which is grammatically awkward). While you attempt to use less common vocabulary, these occasional slips prevent a higher score. To improve, focus on using collocations more naturally and ensure that your word choices are precise in the context of the sentence.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this level. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of your writing. Examples include 'do not required to work' (should be 'are not required'), 'a notable example are travel vloggers' (subject-verb agreement error), and 'because of it is easy' (incorrect structure). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points, they are frequent enough to limit your score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions and conjunctions to improve your accuracy.
