Student answer (Band 6.5)

It is irrefutable that many people prefer to visit their own country for enjoying their vacations and not prefer to visit foreign countries.I completely disagree with this statement that people will not go on foreign trip on their holidays.

There are many reasons why i believe that people will definitely go on foreign trips. To begin with, people already know about their own culture and history of the country. They already visited their country's historical places and visiting again again seems boring. They want to try something new and want to explore foreign culture, food and their history.Hence, which makes them knowledgeable about the other countries culture. In addition, now many of the individuals are having good jobs and have high salaries and they want to spend for living and enjoying good life with their life partners, children or friends.

Moreover foreign countries have really good environment,no pollution and best scenic views like mountains, good whether, better facilities etcetra, which encourage them to travel on vacations even when it's high travel cost. For example ,in India there are good places to travel but there are no better facilities there ,lot of pollution like noise and air pollution,no good food and places for accommodations,so people don't like to visit there. Furthermore , individuals are attracted by the beautiful places on social media and from friends what they talking if they ever visited there. They are kind of like feel jealous of they don't visit so they are working hard ,they are doing two jobs for making money.

In conclusion,I would like to reiterate that people will definitely go on foreign trip in future has many reasons like to learn foreign culture, high budget and many beautiful places attractions.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The response addresses the prompt clearly, maintaining a consistent position throughout. The ideas are relevant, such as the desire for cultural exploration and the influence of social media. However, the development of these points is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding pollution in India is a bit anecdotal and could be better integrated into a broader discussion about infrastructure. While the task is fully addressed, the supporting arguments lack the depth required for a higher band, as they rely on generalizations rather than nuanced analysis. Nevertheless, the position is clear and the response is well-focused on the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central theme. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with', 'In addition', and 'Moreover', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or repetitive, and the use of referencing is occasionally imprecise, such as in the sentence 'They are kind of like feel jealous of they don't visit'. While the overall progression is logical, the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of cohesive links and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their intended antecedents.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'irrefutable' and 'reiterate'. However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'foreign trip' instead of 'trips abroad' and 'good whether' (spelling error for 'weather'). The range is sufficient to communicate the message, but the lack of precision and occasional errors in collocation prevent it from reaching a higher band. Expanding the range of synonyms and focusing on natural collocations would improve this score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the other countries culture'), subject-verb agreement, and punctuation (missing spaces after periods). Some sentences are structurally weak, such as 'They are kind of like feel jealous of they don't visit'. The control over complex structures is inconsistent, and the errors are noticeable throughout the text. To improve, the student should focus on sentence boundary punctuation and ensuring that complex clauses are grammatically sound.
