Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 104 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you state your position clearly, the arguments regarding economic growth and education are presented in a very brief, list-like manner without sufficient elaboration or concrete examples. To improve, you must expand on your points by explaining the 'how' and 'why' behind your claims. The task requires a more thorough exploration of the topic to reach the necessary length and depth for a higher band score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay lacks a clear structure. There is no introduction or conclusion, and the body paragraphs are underdeveloped. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'In addition', the overall flow is disjointed. The lack of paragraphing and the brevity of the text make it difficult to follow a logical progression of ideas. To improve, ensure you have a clear introduction, distinct body paragraphs with topic sentences, and a concluding summary. Using a wider variety of linking words will also help connect your ideas more smoothly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive. You rely on simple terms like 'important', 'good', and 'big', which limits your ability to express complex ideas. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'commute abroad' (instead of 'travel abroad') and 'tourism place' (instead of 'tourist destination'). To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise vocabulary and collocations related to the topic of tourism and economics. Expanding your range of synonyms will help you avoid repetition and convey your meaning more effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The text contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Issues include missing articles ('our country economic growth'), incorrect verb forms ('people choose the own country'), and punctuation errors (spacing before commas). The sentence structures are mostly simple, with very few attempts at complex sentences. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles. Practicing the use of complex structures, such as relative clauses or conditional sentences, will also help you demonstrate a wider grammatical range.
