Student answer (Band 7.0)
It is expected that in the coming days, increasing number of population would opt to explore their native land rather than travelling to foreign countries. However I do not completely agree with this claim as I believe every country is different and they offers various natural sceneries.
First of all, plant earth has a vast landscape that is worth exploring and not every country offers all the natural sceneries. For instance, country like Nepal doesn't have any coastline so its citizen cannot enjoy salt water beaches. Moreover, people gets bored by visiting the same places in their country so they are likely to explore another countries. For example, citizens of India must get bored by visiting 'Taj Mahal' because it is not something new to them anymore. Furthermore, curiosity is human tendency that lures them to adventure. Going to the same places in their locality cannot be thrilling after few times. In a survey conducted by the University of Kathmandu, they asked interviewed approximately 50 Sherpas at Mount Everest, the results were interesting as most of them do not feel thrilled even by summiting the Everest. This kind of examples explains the importance of new adventures.
On the other hand, if a country has almost everything to offer then people of that might not have to go abroad for holidays. To explicate, India is a very unique country as it meets the ocean from the three sides, it has the longest mountain range 'Himalayas', deserts of Rajasthan and snow in Kashmir. Hence people of this kind of nation do not need travel abroad to see different natural landscapes.
In conclusion, most of the people need to travel abroad in order to experience various cultures and landscape but their are very few countries that offers diversity of such level that its citizen do not have to go abroad.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The ideas are relevant, such as the desire for novelty and the geographical diversity of certain nations. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat uneven. For instance, the example regarding the Sherpas is a bit tangential and does not strongly support the argument about holiday preferences. While the position is clear, the supporting arguments could be more thoroughly extended to reach a higher band. The conclusion effectively summarizes the main points, confirming the writer's stance that while domestic travel is possible, the human desire for variety often necessitates international travel.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each with a clear focus. The progression of ideas is generally smooth, moving from the human need for novelty to the counter-argument regarding geographically diverse countries. Cohesive devices such as 'First of all', 'Moreover', 'Furthermore', and 'On the other hand' are used to link ideas, although some transitions feel slightly mechanical. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different stages of the argument. Referencing is generally clear, though there are minor issues with article usage that occasionally affect the flow of the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'native land', 'natural sceneries', and 'human tendency'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'plant earth' (instead of 'planet Earth') and 'they offers' (subject-verb agreement error). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over lexical items to reach a higher band. The range is sufficient to discuss the topic but lacks the sophistication required for higher scores.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the writer attempts complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('they offers', 'people gets', 'their are') and article usage ('country like Nepal', 'explore another countries'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some missing commas after introductory phrases. Despite these errors, the meaning remains clear throughout the response. To improve, the writer should focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and ensuring consistency in subject-verb agreement.
