Student answer (Band 7.0)

Nowadays, international travel has become more accessible due to improved transportation and affordable flight options. However, Some people believe that in the future, folks will prefer to travel domestically then international trips. I disagree with this statement because I believe that people will continue to travel abroad to explore new destinations and gain unique experiences.

One of the main reason why people will keep visiting different countries because they like to explore different places and to gain knowledge about their cultures and lifestyles. moreover, visiting foreign country allow them to experience new traditions, try out their cuisine and connecting to the people from diverse backgrounds. For example, More individuals visit countries like Japan, Korea, and Thailand to know about their history and experience their traditions, not only for sightseeing.

Another reason is that travelling internationally have become more convenient and affordable today than the past. most airlines do offer different deals and packages which make it easier for folks to travel internationally. Furthermore, there are several online platforms and website available who offer affordable flight tickets and accommodations. As a result, visiting another country is no longer considered a luxury only available to wealthy people. For instance, many young travellers now save money specifically to visit foreign destinations and create memorable experiences.

In conclusion, although sometimes domestic travels are cheaper and more convenient, I do not believe that people will stop visiting foreign countries. The opportunity to explore new places, experience different culture and getting connected to people from different culture background will always encourage individuals to travel internationally.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The arguments regarding cultural exploration and the increased affordability of travel are relevant and logically developed. However, the essay could be improved by providing more nuanced counter-arguments or deeper analysis of why domestic travel might not replace international travel in the long term. While the ideas are supported, the development is somewhat repetitive, particularly in the conclusion. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph introduces a distinct, well-elaborated point rather than restating similar concepts.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'however', 'moreover', 'furthermore', and 'as a result' are used to link sentences and paragraphs. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing (e.g., 'visiting foreign country' lacks an article). The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the flow could be improved by using a wider variety of cohesive markers to avoid repetitive sentence structures.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task and allows for clear communication. You use some topic-specific vocabulary such as 'destinations', 'accommodations', and 'diverse backgrounds'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'folks' (which is too informal for an academic essay) and 'connecting to the people' (should be 'connecting with'). There is also a lack of less common lexical items that would demonstrate a higher level of sophistication. To improve, focus on using more formal academic vocabulary and ensuring correct collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'travelling internationally have become', 'visiting foreign country allow') and article usage (e.g., 'in the past' vs 'than the past'). Punctuation is generally fine, but there are some minor errors in capitalization and phrasing. To achieve a higher band, you need to increase the frequency of error-free sentences and pay closer attention to basic grammatical rules like pluralization and verb agreement.
