The importance of enjoying holidays either within country or to abroad is a matter of debate. The substantial influence of this trend has sparked debate about the controversial one. Although enjoying holidays abroad has advantages, particularly international exposure and personality development, our country has far more opportunities. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument that international travel provides 'a context of superiority in finances' is unclear and lacks logical support. Similarly, the claim that domestic tourism enhances 'import export' is not well-explained in the context of holidays. While the position is consistent, the supporting arguments often rely on vague assertions rather than concrete examples or logical elaboration. To reach a higher band, you should focus on providing more specific, relevant examples to justify your claims rather than using abstract or slightly confusing terminology.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the other hand' and 'In conclusion', which help the reader follow the progression of ideas. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'the controversial one' in the introduction, which lacks a clear referent. Additionally, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes hindered by sentences that do not connect smoothly to the previous point. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words will help create a more natural and sophisticated flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary, but there are several instances of imprecise word choice and awkward collocations. For example, 'set an algorithm for your family' is an inappropriate use of a technical term, and 'thrive hard to alive our culture' is grammatically incorrect and uses 'alive' as a verb where it does not fit. While you attempt to use more complex language, the lack of precision occasionally obscures your meaning. Focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that the words you choose are used in their correct context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex constructions, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. Examples include 'I personally believe to prioritize your own country is national obligation' (missing articles and infinitive usage issues) and 'you are surrounding by loved ones' (passive voice error). These errors are noticeable but do not generally impede communication. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement, article usage, and the correct formation of passive voice structures.
