Student answer (Band 7.0)

It is commendable that optimists would love to enjoy their vacations in their domestic country rather than doing international trips. I disagree with this statement because roaming around the world teaches more as compare to making visits in own country. This essay will explain the reasons for the above statement in the following paragraphs.

To begin with, exploring the world leads to grasp the knowledge of other cultures, religions, food and many more things. People become more enthusiastic and show their keen interest towards the new country which doubles their happiness. Furthermore, spending vacations inside own country will render the individuals to meet the different world. It not only prevent the people to proliferate the new environment entirely, but also keep them away from some outstanding locations, weather, natives of other countries.

Moreover, making trips across the globe also helps the people to learn something new from others which cannot be possible if a person is visiting the places in its native place. This approach can also be paramount to become a social person. Besides this, proponents take benefits to develop more interpersonal skills by spending their holidays in different parts of the world which is less plausible by remaining in their own country. For instance, if a person lives in India and every year he visits Goa; he would not learn or see something new. All he is doing is rejuvenating himself by spending his holidays. On the other hand, if he goes abroad; he will spectate the new world with new people, culture, food and would learn something new by making his vacations thrilled and filled with magnificent memories.

To conclude, it is clear with the aforementioned reasons that instead of travelling nationally, people should travel worldwide; which will lead to both overall development and making new memories by learning, adapting, understanding the different parts of the globe.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The response addresses the prompt clearly, maintaining a consistent position throughout. The ideas are relevant, focusing on cultural exchange and personal development as benefits of international travel. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat repetitive. For instance, the argument about 'learning new things' is mentioned in both the second and third paragraphs without significant expansion. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more distinct, well-supported arguments rather than restating the same point in different ways. The conclusion effectively summarizes the main stance, ensuring the task requirements are met.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Furthermore', 'Moreover', and 'To conclude' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'It not only prevent the people to proliferate the new environment entirely'. While the progression of ideas is generally clear, the internal cohesion within sentences could be improved to ensure a smoother reading experience. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the introduction, body, and conclusion.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'commendable', 'proliferate', 'paramount', and 'rejuvenating'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors. For example, 'roaming around the world' is informal, and 'proliferate the new environment' is used incorrectly in this context. Additionally, 'spectate the new world' is not a natural collocation. While your vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning, you need to focus on using words in their correct contexts and improving your grasp of natural English collocations to achieve a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally hinder the clarity of your points. Examples include 'teaches more as compare to', 'render the individuals to meet', and 'which is less plausible by remaining'. Subject-verb agreement and preposition usage are inconsistent throughout the text. While these errors rarely prevent the reader from understanding your overall argument, they are frequent enough to limit the score. Focusing on basic grammatical accuracy and refining your use of complex structures will help improve your performance.
