Student answer (Band 7.0)

In the future, more individuals will choose to go on vacation in their own nation and not travel to other country on holiday. I completely agree with this viewpoint, and I will prove my stance in the ensuing paragraphs before drawing a rational conclusion at the end.

To begin with, there are many reasons for this trend. Firstly, If people choose to travel in their own country, then their own country will get benefits. To explain this, people will spend money on the tourist places, which will boost local economy. Secondly, safety is also major reason for this. In other words, people always feel more safe and comfortable in their own country rather than any foreign country.

Moreover, people choose their own region for medical reason too. If someone is having any serious medical condition, they choose to stay in their own country for vacation because getting medical attention in foreign country is difficult, and it can be very expensive. Lastly, budget is also factor when choosing any country for leisure purpose. People can visit more places in their own country because they can save money on flights. Time is also important as people can save lots of travelling time on commuting. Travelling in foreign nation can take between 2 hours to 48 hours.

To recapitulate, I completely support idea of choosing own country for vacation due to many reasons such as it can have positive impact on country's economy, more safety, easy access to medical facilities, and less financial burden on families.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The arguments regarding economic benefits, safety, medical accessibility, and budget are relevant. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the point about medical conditions is mentioned but not fully explained in the context of a holiday. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific examples or elaborate on the 'why' and 'how' of your arguments. The conclusion effectively summarizes your main points, ensuring the position remains consistent.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central theme. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'Moreover' to guide the reader. However, the progression between some sentences feels slightly mechanical. The use of referencing is generally clear, though some transitions could be more sophisticated to improve the flow. Paragraphing is used appropriately, and the overall structure is easy to follow, which is a strength of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use topic-specific terms like 'local economy', 'medical condition', and 'financial burden'. However, there is some repetition of basic words like 'country' and 'people'. To improve, try to incorporate more precise synonyms and collocations. For instance, instead of 'get benefits', you could use 'stimulate economic growth'. There are no significant spelling errors, and your word choice is generally accurate enough to convey your meaning without difficulty.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is always clear, there are recurring grammatical errors, such as missing articles ('in foreign country' should be 'in a foreign country') and minor prepositional issues. Some sentences are slightly repetitive in structure. To achieve a higher band, focus on increasing the variety of your complex sentences and ensuring consistent use of articles and pluralization. Despite these errors, they do not impede communication, and your control over basic grammar is generally sound.
