Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by stating a clear position in the introduction. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention financial savings and family time as reasons for holidaying domestically, the arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. The conclusion is incomplete, as it trails off without fully summarizing your position. To improve, ensure each body paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed idea supported by a clear, specific example. Currently, the examples provided, such as the reference to a 'headline of the local newspaper,' are vague and do not effectively illustrate your point. Expanding on the 'why' and 'how' behind your arguments would significantly improve your score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, phrases like 'Moving further' and 'For clear a example' are used, but they do not always connect ideas logically. The flow between sentences is sometimes disrupted by grammatical errors, making the progression of ideas feel disjointed. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently,' 'furthermore,' 'in contrast') and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that directly relates to your main argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward word choices and incorrect collocations, such as 'buwing to with the can relax' and 'spend their equality time.' Additionally, there are spelling errors like 'uncessary' and 'enchance.' While you attempt to use some topic-related vocabulary, the limited range and frequent errors in word formation hinder the overall quality of the writing. Focusing on learning common collocations and checking your spelling will help you convey your ideas more effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'holidays are play vital role'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'humans are go outsides'), and missing articles or prepositions. These errors are persistent and occasionally make it difficult for the reader to follow your intended meaning. To improve, practice using a mix of complex sentence structures, such as relative clauses or conditional sentences, and pay close attention to basic grammar rules like tense consistency and pluralization. Proofreading for these common errors is essential.
