Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of domestic tourism. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. While you provide reasons such as cost-effectiveness and cultural awareness, the explanation is occasionally unclear or lacks depth. Furthermore, the response falls just short of the 250-word minimum requirement, which necessitates a penalty in this criterion. To improve, ensure that your arguments are fully expanded with more detailed examples and that you meet the minimum word count to avoid unnecessary deductions. The structure is logical, but the content needs more substance to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices like 'To commence with', 'Shifting towards the latter notion', and 'To conclude'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'To explicate it' or 'In other words'. Additionally, there are instances where the flow between sentences is disjointed due to grammatical errors, making the progression of ideas feel slightly bumpy. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words more naturally and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your main points. You use some topic-specific terms like 'overseas', 'budget-friendly', and 'culture'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'choose their own notion for travel' and 'travel in own country concept will accepting'. These errors occasionally hinder the clarity of your message. To reach a higher band, focus on learning common collocations and using more precise vocabulary to express your ideas, rather than relying on repetitive or slightly inaccurate phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include incorrect verb forms ('people have been became aware'), missing articles, and subject-verb agreement errors ('most of tourist will enjoy'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and capitalization. While these errors do not completely prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they are frequent enough to impact the overall fluency of the text. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and proofreading for common grammatical slips.
