Student answer (Band 6.5)

Many proponents assert that many tourists will prefer visit their holiday destinations into their own country in upcoming years, which I predict is a pragmatically possible. This essay will elucidate why I strongly agree with this prediction using relevant examples.

Firstly, although visiting to overseas destinations teaches people lots of imperative things, it would be not their cheapest and easiest travel experience. Cost of traveling increases the overall destination budget, but instead if public decide to visit their own country's places, then it would not only reduces their traveling cost but also saves their money. For example, in summer holidays' time, I prefer to visit well-recognized tourist places in my own country, which helps me financially.

Secondly, visa is an additional factor that needs to be considered while traveling overseas. Many countries have made strict rules to overseas tourists to have a valid visa in order to reduce irregular activities and crimes. if a person does not have any visa, then it is completely difficult to visit another nation; but instead they could visit their own country that does not require any identification. For example, in Canada, Indian tourists' rate has been dropped from 12% to 3% in 2026 after government's strict rule of visa, as a consequence, Indian tourist places have seen a positive growth in terms of travelers, ameliorating their local places' image.

To conclude, some observers critic that people will travel their own country instead of choosing the another nation in future. I believe that the possibility of this type of travel is higher, as it not only saves people money but also helps local places economically.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The essay addresses the prompt clearly and maintains a consistent position throughout. The arguments regarding cost and visa requirements are relevant and supported by examples, such as the mention of Canadian tourism trends. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited; the explanation of why domestic travel is 'pragmatically possible' could be more deeply explored. While the response covers all parts of the task, the supporting evidence is occasionally simplistic. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully extended with more nuanced analysis rather than relying on brief, generalized statements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'To conclude' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'but instead if public decide'. Referencing is generally clear, but the connection between sentences could be smoother to improve the overall progression of ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task, with attempts to use topic-specific terms like 'ameliorating' and 'proponents'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'visit their holiday destinations into their own country' (should be 'in') and 'people will travel their own country' (missing 'to'). The phrase 'imperative things' is also slightly unnatural in this context. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey meaning, the lack of precision and occasional awkward collocations prevent a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the' missing before 'cost', 'the' missing before 'government'), prepositions, and verb forms ('visiting to overseas', 'people will travel their own country'). Some sentences are slightly clunky, such as 'which I predict is a pragmatically possible'. While these errors do not impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. A greater focus on subject-verb agreement and correct preposition usage would significantly improve the accuracy of the writing.
