Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this modern era, countries developing day by day and all the nations have various tourist spots and locations for spending holidays. In future, there are number of people who like to go on vocations in their own country rather than traveling abroad. I am agreeing with the statement and discuss the viewpoints in upcoming paragraphs.

To begin with, there are numerous reasons behind why people like to travel in their own nation in holidays rather than traveling abroad. Foremost, nowadays, all the nations have many tourist attractions where individuals like to spend their holiday with their family and friends. For example, in India people like to go Simla because in summer the views are very eye catching and weather is cool. Secondly, all the nations now neater and cleaner as compared to past which is also a main reason people like to spend holidays in their own country.

Furthermore, individuals like to go on those places which gives them relation and peace of mind. For instance, in India number of people like to go Golden Temple to do worship of God during holidays. Moreover, spending holiday in their own country also help to save their time as well as helpful to enhance country economic growth which is helpful to maintain beauty of the tourist attractions so that more people like to visit those places.

In conclusion, I totally agree with the statement in future more people like to spend vocations in their own nations because all countries developing tourist attractions which enhance individuals' interest to visit and stay in their own country rather than travel abroad.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of domestic tourism. The ideas are relevant, such as the convenience of local attractions, economic benefits, and the desire for relaxation. However, the development is somewhat superficial. For example, the mention of the 'Golden Temple' is a good specific example, but the explanation of why domestic travel is increasing is a bit repetitive. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the 'why'—perhaps discussing the rising costs of international flights or the impact of global connectivity on local infrastructure. The position is consistent throughout, but the depth of argument remains at a basic level.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use basic cohesive devices like 'To begin with,' 'Secondly,' and 'Furthermore' to signal transitions. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and some referencing is slightly unclear (e.g., 'all the nations now neater and cleaner'). The use of cohesive devices is adequate but lacks the flexibility and sophistication required for higher bands. Paragraphing is used appropriately, and the progression of ideas is generally easy to follow, though the concluding paragraph merely restates the introduction without adding a final thought or synthesis.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning, but it is often repetitive and lacks precision. You use basic terms like 'good,' 'nice,' or 'many' implicitly through your phrasing. There are also some word-choice errors, such as 'vocations' instead of 'vacations' and 'do worship' instead of 'worship.' Phrases like 'countries developing day by day' are somewhat simplistic. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and academic vocabulary related to tourism and economics. You have a functional range, but it does not demonstrate the flexibility needed for a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the' is often missing or misused), subject-verb agreement ('countries developing' should be 'countries are developing'), and word forms ('I am agreeing' should be 'I agree'). These errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding your argument. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like missing auxiliary verbs and incorrect pluralization.
