Student answer (Band 6.0)

Some people hold the opinion that in upcoming years mostly people will prefer to enjoy their holidays with in their home country. I totally disagree with this statement, I personally believe with globalization and significantly increased social media influence , people continuously enjoy their foreign vocation.

To begin with, mostly all the countries are on good term with each other. They all are actively participating in global trade and encouraging tourism. As a result, it has become very convenient for tourists to get a visitor visa of other counties. For Example the Canada and the United state are neighbour countries, in order to maintain a good relation they trade regularly with each other and welcome the tourism. Therefore, globalization has significantly boost the tourism. As a result, it become easy for tourists to travel to abroad countries.

Moreover, social media play an important role in global tourism. Due to wide access of information for everyone, many people have information about famous and historical tourist destinations. As a result, people are now more curious to explore these foreign places. For instance, the Disney land is world's on of the most famous park have social media accounts an various platforms, where the advertise the Disney Land and encourage people to visit them. The influence of social media attract visitors from all around the world to tourist destinations.

To conclude, I personally believe that influence of social media and globalization has made it easier and accessible for people to travel to foreign counties and explore their tourist destinations.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position of disagreement. The main ideas—globalization and social media—are relevant. However, the development is somewhat limited. The explanation of how globalization facilitates tourism is a bit generic, and the example of Canada and the US is slightly underdeveloped. While the position is clear throughout, the arguments could be extended with more specific analysis of why domestic travel might not replace international travel, rather than just focusing on why international travel is increasing. Overall, it covers all parts of the task but lacks the depth required for a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'As a result' are used to link ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes repetitive and mechanical. Referencing is generally clear, though some transitions between sentences feel slightly abrupt. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the progression of ideas is easy to follow, meeting the requirements for a band 6.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'globalization', 'social media influence', and 'tourist destinations'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and minor errors, such as 'foreign vocation' (instead of 'vacation'), 'abroad countries' (instead of 'foreign countries'), and 'the Canada and the United state'. These errors do not impede communication, but they demonstrate a limited range and occasional inaccuracy in collocation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('social media play', 'it become easy'), article misuse ('the Canada', 'the Disney land'), and punctuation errors. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors is noticeable. The writer attempts complex sentences, but they often contain minor slips that prevent the writing from reaching a higher level of accuracy. A greater focus on proofreading for basic grammatical consistency would improve the score.
