Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is often argued that in the near future, the domestic trips would be praferred by most of the people compared to go abroad for vocations. I agree with the statement because of awareness and some financial issues.

The most significant point is cultural values. People would know more about their cultural values so, they may choose local trips rather than making an international trips. The local trips give them a chance to get know more about their culture deeply by visiting areas and interacting with local residents. As a result, people want to get to know more about their cultural diversity before exploring international communities.

Another major points is financial crisises, preventing people to make an international trip. In recent years, infallation is increasing and people have no security about their jobs. It imapcts people's budget and expenses. Usually, the international trips are demanding more money than the domestic trips. Domestic trips are budget friendly, and people enjoy their vocation without any financial burden.

Furthermore, the language barrier may cause another reason. In some countries people do speak only their native languages and even though they do not know international language. Visitor may feel stuck due to incomplete conversations because they do not able to express their idea with residents. Therefore, the more local trips would be selected by people to enjoy their holiday time.

In conclusion, there are some reasons that helps people to decide domestic trips on holidays, such as curiosity to know about their own culture, financial issues and due to some language barriers.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position and providing three distinct reasons: cultural awareness, financial constraints, and language barriers. While the ideas are relevant, they are somewhat under-developed. For instance, the point about 'cultural values' is a bit repetitive, and the argument regarding language barriers could be more effectively linked to why this specifically encourages domestic travel rather than just being a general travel difficulty. The position is consistent throughout, and the conclusion effectively summarizes the main points. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more specific examples or deeper analysis for each supporting point to ensure the argument is fully extended.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, each focusing on a specific idea. There is a logical progression from the introduction to the body paragraphs and the conclusion. You use some cohesive devices such as 'The most significant point', 'Another major points', and 'Furthermore', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing and flow, such as the phrasing 'the more local trips would be selected'. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the overall structure is coherent, making the essay easy to follow despite some minor lapses in cohesion.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'financial burden', 'cultural diversity', and 'language barrier'. However, there are several spelling errors ('praferred', 'vocations' instead of 'vacations', 'infallation', 'imapcts') and some awkward word choices, such as 'financial crisises' and 'making an international trips'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To improve, focus on proofreading for common spelling mistakes and ensuring that your word choices are accurate in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt to use complex sentences, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, such as 'the domestic trips would be praferred', 'people do speak only their native languages', and 'they do not able to express'. These errors are noticeable but rarely impede the reader's understanding. The use of articles and subject-verb agreement needs more attention. To achieve a higher band, focus on increasing the frequency of error-free complex sentences and refining your control over verb forms and sentence construction.
