Student answer (Band 6.0)
- Globalisation limits urge
Tourism industry have been booming in the recent decades but a fraction of the society believes that the people will prefer to spend their holiday in their own country rather than going for international trips. I agree with this because two major reason - limited fuel and the capitalism.
Travelling longer distances require more fuel making it difficult for common citizens to pay for the such journeys. It takes millions of years for carbon stored in grounds to make these fossil fuels that are then processed to make petrol, natural gas, etc. The growing population have generated higher demands of these fuels as these they are essential for modern daily lifestyle. We require it for commuting for to our workplaces, cooking and many more. A survey shows that the worldwide fossil fuel consumption have inclined by 65% in 2025. This limited resource and growing demands make the crude expensive for common people. To make pocket friendly holidays, they pick local destinations to visit.
Another reason for choosing travel within the country is the globalisation. The internet have given us exposure to international services and products. Advancement in the technology have make it easy for businesses to be accesible online. Even the governement from various countries have made deals which supports easy imports and exports of the products. Now, to experience new fruit or any service, people do not require to travel. This decreases the urge of individual to visit the another country and it saves money. For example, in India, 70 more international restaurant chains like Starbucks have opened up for individuals to experience the food and leisure.
However, people who have resources will still visit famous monuments to experience international culture.
To conclude, we can predict less and less people going out for internation holidays.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The arguments regarding fuel costs and the impact of globalization are relevant. However, the development is somewhat uneven; the explanation of 'capitalism' in the introduction is not fully explored in the body paragraphs, and the second body paragraph focuses more on globalization reducing the need to travel rather than the specific prompt of choosing domestic over international holidays. While the ideas are relevant, they could be more deeply supported with more nuanced examples to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'However' and 'To conclude', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical or repetitive. The referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences occasionally feels disjointed due to grammatical errors. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the progression of ideas is easy to follow, which satisfies the requirements for a band 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'globalisation' and 'accessible', but there are also instances of awkward phrasing or incorrect word choice, such as 'inclined by 65%' (should be 'increased') and 'make the crude expensive' (should be 'crude oil'). Spelling is generally accurate, but the range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, preventing a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occur throughout the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('Tourism industry have been', 'The internet have given', 'The growing population have generated') and minor errors with articles and prepositions ('pay for the such journeys', 'visit the another country'). While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent the essay from reaching the 7.0 band, which requires more frequent error-free sentences.
