Student answer (Band 6.0)

In the contemporary era, more individual select to go to their own motherland excluding an abroad trip as on holiday. I strongly agree with the concept hence this essay will discuss with few facts and points to prove the concept.

To begin with, most people live far from their family in order to earn handsome money and support the family financially. The current country (residing in) provided top-notch facilities in education, work-life, lifestyle and more nevertheless the affection towards the country make the person feel that once a year visiting my own country will provide my a sense of belonging and brotherhood. This way an individual can be connected their roots. A deep bonding of with closed ones will not erase.

On the other hand, an increased expenses dominates outing to abroad. The money exchange, monthly expenditure, tickets and even more are the factors which restricts pupils to explore the other parts of the world. For instance, a sudden plane crash, climate change, even war creates a feeling of fear among the individuals. The planning and execution of the trip to foreign country draws great attention, which is not possible for everyone to focus avoiding professional lives. Thus, in order to relax calm our mind and to get active as well. The homecoming is mandatory, where the person feel loved and valued.

To sum up, I strongly agree the family is base of the root, so we should stay connected with family. In Addition a regular break from and visit to one's own country is valid and acceptable.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of domestic holidays. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the point about family connection is relevant, the second paragraph introduces a list of disparate factors—such as plane crashes, war, and climate change—which are not fully developed or logically connected to the main argument about domestic tourism. The essay would benefit from focusing on one or two strong, well-explained arguments rather than listing several loosely related points. The conclusion is brief and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction and conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the phrase 'In Addition a regular break from and visit to one's own country' lacks a clear connection to the previous sentence. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'The current country (residing in) provided top-notch facilities', where the subject-verb agreement and pronoun usage create confusion. While the overall progression is discernible, the flow between sentences is sometimes interrupted by awkward phrasing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and sophistication. There are several instances of awkward collocations and word choice errors, such as 'more individual select', 'handsome money', and 'restricts pupils to explore'. The term 'pupils' is incorrectly used to refer to adults/travelers. While the student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary, the errors in word formation and collocation are frequent enough to occasionally impede the reader's understanding. A wider range of vocabulary and more accurate word choice would be required for a higher band score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('more individual select'), incorrect preposition usage ('bonding of with'), and awkward sentence fragments or run-on structures ('Thus, in order to relax calm our mind and to get active as well.'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the writing from reaching a higher band score.
