Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of domestic holidays. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention family relationships and stress relief, the arguments are supported by anecdotal evidence rather than well-developed reasoning. The example regarding the BBC article is vague and lacks specific context. To improve, ensure that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-explained point with clear supporting details. The conclusion is present but could be more effectively linked to the main body points to provide a stronger summary of your position.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'On the first hand =strong relationship' and 'That is way'. These phrases disrupt the flow of the text. Additionally, the transition between ideas is sometimes abrupt. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') more naturally and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'up comingdays', 'trand', 'greet placement', and 'strees'. These errors occasionally make it difficult for the reader to grasp the intended meaning. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle with collocations, such as 'make a trand' instead of 'follow a trend'. To improve, try to learn words in context and focus on accurate spelling of common academic terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement ('most of individual will choosing'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, which hinders clarity. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, they are often faulty, such as 'If they can go holiday in their own country .they can reduce these problems'. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like verb tenses and pluralization before attempting more complex grammatical forms.
