Student answer (Band 5.5)
it is often argued that, most of the individuals will prefer to spend their vacations domestically rather than internationally, in the upcoming years. I strongly disagree with this views as today's generation has exploring mindset and most of the people has family or business ties globally.
To commence with, it is a fact that youngsters, children or teenagers are more curious about the things they don't know. In order to explore more about other food, culture, religion or custom, they are exploring new places internationally. In this modern era, parents are visiting to other country with small kids which make the child more curios about that place when he grows up. For example, most children visiting other countries just because they want to explore living and eating habits of others.
Moreover, in this contemporary era, business had spread around the globe. people are starting moving aboard for business or study. As a result the family ties which they left behind may encourage to meet sometime in future. For instance, may parents are visiting abroad to meet their own child who are studying in other country. thus people will have a vacation in order to meet their loved once.
However, it is completely accepted that individuals will travel domestically on holidays due to shortage of money. which hinder their freedom to travel globally.
in conclusion, although some people travel locally because of the insufficient funds but most people will travel internationally because of family ties and cusriousness.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the essay is slightly under the 250-word minimum, which impacts the development of ideas. While the arguments regarding curiosity and global connectivity are relevant, they are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. The conclusion is brief, and the counter-argument is acknowledged but not fully integrated into the overall argument. To improve, you should expand on your examples and ensure the word count requirement is met to allow for a more thorough exploration of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion'. However, some transitions are mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is slightly disjointed, such as the abrupt transition to the counter-argument. Referencing is generally clear, but the use of punctuation, particularly with commas and sentence fragments (e.g., 'which hinder their freedom...'), occasionally disrupts the logical flow of the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You rely on basic terms like 'exploring mindset' and 'visiting to other country'. There are some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'most of the individuals' instead of 'most individuals' and 'loved once' instead of 'loved ones'. While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is limited, and there is little evidence of less common or idiomatic language that would be required for a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'most of the people has'), incorrect preposition usage ('visiting to other country'), and tense inconsistencies. Punctuation is also problematic, with several sentence fragments and unnecessary commas. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the overall clarity and professional tone of the writing. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be beneficial.
