Student answer (Band 6.5)
It is majorly observed that people often choose to travel in their home country rather than exploring foreign destinations. I believe that exploring the home country can be more beneficial than travelling abroad because it saves time and comparatively it is more affordable. Although an individual can meet new people and explore their culture, if travelled abroad on holidays.
On the one hand, it is not possible for everyone to travel to abroad and it is more expensive and time consuming. In addition, exploring the home country can enhance the knowledge about the places in the country and it is more affordable approach specially for working individuals who often caught up with stress about their job. For example, a family living in Canada can visit Banff or Vancouver without paying for international flights or visas, making a domestic holiday considerably cheaper. Lastly, it doesn't need any visa or permission to travel in own country.
On the other hand, foreign trips are more expensive, and time consuming and only wealthy people can travel outside the country. Moreover, it has benefits such as an individual can get international exposure which can be good for their professional growth. For example, people often working in Multinational companies are more experienced and knowledgeable because of foreign exposure. Unfortunately, their own country left unexplored by themselves because of international trips.
To conclude, it is fun to explore foreign countries during vacation, but it takes more time and financial efforts, whereas going on unexplored location in own country could be more exciting. Thus, I believe that spending holidays in one's own country is a better option because it is more affordable and convenient than travelling abroad

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, clearly stating a position in favor of domestic tourism. The ideas are relevant, such as cost-effectiveness and convenience, and are supported by examples like the Canadian context. However, the development is somewhat repetitive; the points about cost and time are mentioned in both the introduction and the body paragraphs without significant extension. To reach a higher band, you should focus on developing your arguments more deeply rather than restating them. For instance, you could elaborate on how domestic tourism impacts the local economy or how it fosters a deeper appreciation for one's own heritage.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the advantages of domestic travel from the counter-arguments regarding international travel. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand,' 'In addition,' and 'To conclude' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing, such as the sentence 'Unfortunately, their own country left unexplored by themselves,' which is grammatically awkward and disrupts the flow of the argument. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the message to be conveyed clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'international exposure' and 'multinational companies.' However, there is a reliance on basic phrasing and some collocation errors, such as 'majorly observed' (which is non-standard) and 'financial efforts' (which is not a natural collocation). To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary and ensure that word choices are natural in context. The range is sufficient for the task but lacks the sophistication required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. Examples include 'if travelled abroad' (incorrect passive construction), 'often caught up with stress' (missing auxiliary verb), and 'their own country left unexplored' (missing verb). Additionally, there are issues with article usage and prepositional phrases. While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct tense usage will help improve your accuracy.
