Student answer (Band 6.0)

In the future, many people will choose to visit places in their own country rather than travelling abroad for holidays. I agree with the above statement. I intend to give reasons in the below paragraphs.

There are many factors that contribute in making a person choose the option of travelling in their own country. The cost of living and the fast growing competition are the major reasons. In Future prices of commodities will tend to increased more and more as compare to what it is today which will forces people to plan their trip in minimum budget. Along with the cost, time is also valuable. In the fast paced world people are busy working long hour or taking extra job. Moreover, people will have less time due to shorter leaves. choosing the places nearby will save commute time. For Instance, people prefer to cover lots of adventure activities, less community will help them plan efficiently.

Additionally, It will also save cost due to the foreign exchange. Majority of the cost while travelling abroad is due to foreign exchange. Further, saving this cost will enable an individual to plan more activities and enjoy their holiday in a cost effective way. For instance, people who plan to Visit abroad will end up enjoying in less time and more cost than people who choose to visit places in the country.

In conclusion, I believe people will choose to go on holiday in their own country due to busy schedules and also planning their trip in the cost effective way.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have clearly stated your position and addressed the prompt. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat limited. For example, your point about 'fast growing competition' is mentioned but not clearly linked to why this would force people to holiday domestically. Similarly, the argument regarding 'foreign exchange' is a strong point, but it could be expanded with more specific examples or deeper analysis to reach a higher band. The response is a bit brief in its explanation, which prevents it from being fully developed. To improve, ensure that every point you raise is thoroughly explained with a clear logical connection to your main argument.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

Your essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'Additionally', and 'In conclusion' to link your ideas. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and there are instances where the flow between sentences could be smoother. For example, the transition between the discussion of time and the example about adventure activities is slightly abrupt. Improving the variety of your linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows naturally into the next will help you achieve a higher score in this criterion.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your meaning, such as 'cost of living', 'fast-paced world', and 'cost-effective'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'tend to increased' (should be 'tend to increase') and 'less community' (which seems to be a misuse of the word 'community'). You also rely on some repetitive phrasing. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary and ensure that your word forms are correct. Expanding your range of synonyms will also help you avoid repeating words like 'cost' and 'people' too frequently.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the accuracy of your writing. For instance, 'which will forces people' should be 'which will force people', and 'as compare to what it is today' should be 'compared to what it is today'. Additionally, there are some issues with capitalization (e.g., 'In Future', 'Visit') and punctuation. To reach a higher band, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct verb tenses, and consistent capitalization. Proofreading your work for these small but frequent errors will significantly improve your score.
