Student answer (Band 6.0)
In many countries people more likely to travel to a different countries for their vacations. However, some people argue that in upcoming days, majority of individuals like to spend their leisure days in their own country, rather than travelling abroad. I strongly, agree with this notion and will discuss the reasons of this in forthcoming paragraphs.
First and foremost, travel expense plays a vital role in the travelling. Due to the inflation, the ticket prices of planes are touching skies, in contract to previous time. Common man do-not want to spent the huge portion of their travelling budget in travelling to different nation, in order to save money they prefer to spend vacation in their own nation over other nation. Secondly, travel to famous country for holidays may requires lots of days. However, if an individual is living in a family, may be each person have their own availability; as a result everyone might be not available for the longer vacation.
Apart from that, while we are travelling to a different countries. sometime their are lot of taxes on the travellers, which put extra burden on the travellers. Thus, to encounter this situation people choose their own country for vacation. For instance, in Indonesia the government charger environmental tax, trash tax and road tax to their tourist, which adds extra expense in budget of the tourist. Last but not least, travelling in our own country boost economy of our own nation and also promotes local business of our country.
In conclusion, travelling to abroad may gives us an exciting experience, but it will add extra travelling expense of ticket and requies lot of time. So people prefer to spend holidays in their own country, it saves time and also boost economy of their nation.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The arguments regarding cost, time constraints, and economic benefits are relevant. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the point about family availability is introduced but not fully explained, and the example regarding Indonesia is specific but could be better integrated to support the broader argument. While the main points are clear, they lack the depth and detailed extension required for a higher band score. The conclusion effectively summarizes the main points, ensuring the task requirements are met.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. The use of cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost', 'Secondly', 'Apart from that', and 'In conclusion' helps guide the reader through the argument. However, some transitions are mechanical, and there are instances where the flow between sentences is slightly disjointed, such as the transition between the discussion of taxes and the economic benefits. Referencing is generally clear, but the overall progression of ideas could be more sophisticated to achieve a higher band.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their meaning clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'inflation', 'leisure days', and 'environmental tax'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'touching skies' (should be 'skyrocketing') and 'charger' (should be 'charges'). The repetition of words like 'travelling' and 'nation' suggests a need for a wider range of synonyms to improve the sophistication of the writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('travel expense plays', 'everyone might be not available'), article usage ('the travelling', 'a different countries'), and pluralization ('a different countries'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some comma splices and unnecessary commas. These errors are noticeable but do not significantly impede communication. To improve, the student should focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and refining the use of articles and prepositions.
