Student answer (Band 6.0)

Some experts believe that people might choose their home country for the tourism in the future, instead travelling host countries due to colossal reasons. I understand that visiting with their own country might render several benefits but I personally believe, people might also explore other countries to gain unique experience.

To commence with, the primary reason of this phenomenon is security, low travel expenses and also escaping from the immigration rules. Firstly, travelling with in the nation makes one feel more like a home because of the similar languages, food habits, culture and traditional. Secondly, this travel cost particularly less than aboard tourism due to the higher air fare, hotel and for the sightseeing experience. Last but not the least, one will be more relaxed at the airports since they are not asked any immigration questions or the procedures to travel their own country, this reduces much stress for the travel.

However, other school of thought feel that inspite of certain difficulties people might not stop travelling to the other nations due to the globalisation and unique cultural and traditional experience. First of all, some feel extremely bored visiting their home country due to the similarities they find in each other place, hence, they look for the different experience and find it more exciting while travelling other aline world. This establishment helps them one to escape from the daily mundane tasks and also explore different cuisines and cultures. Furthermore, one can be more confident and foster their communication while visiting the other world.

To conclude, although, travelling with in the country might render more benefits to some individuals like low travelling expenses, security. But I personally believe that, visiting other nations might also help one to gain confident and improve the communication.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both sides of the argument. The position is clear from the introduction and maintained throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the point about 'immigration rules' is mentioned but not fully explained in the context of domestic travel. The arguments regarding globalization and cultural experience are relevant but could be expanded with more specific examples to reach a higher band. The conclusion effectively summarizes the main points, though it repeats the prompt's language rather than synthesizing the argument.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central topic. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To commence with', 'Firstly', 'However', and 'To conclude'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'Last but not the least' and 'other school of thought feel'. Additionally, some referencing is slightly unclear, such as 'similarities they find in each other place'. The progression of ideas is logical, but the flow between sentences could be improved to sound more natural and less like a list of points.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors. Examples include 'colossal reasons' (which does not fit the context), 'travelling with in the nation', 'aboard tourism', and 'aline world'. While the student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'globalisation' and 'mundane tasks', the inaccuracies in word choice occasionally impede the precision of the argument. A wider range of precise, academic vocabulary is needed to move beyond a band 6.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with prepositions and articles, such as 'visiting with their own country', 'travelling other aline world', and 'gain confident'. Subject-verb agreement and word forms are also inconsistent, for example, 'traditional' used as a noun instead of 'traditions'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the main message, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency and accuracy of the writing.
