Student answer (Band 6.5)

Some experts believe that people might chose their home country for future tourism, instead travelling host countries for colossal reasons. I understand that visiting within their own country might render several benefits but I personally believe, people visiting other nations would fetch unique experience.

To commence with, the primary reason for this phenomenon is security, low travel expenses and also escaping from the immigration rules. Firstly, travelling within the nation makes one feel more like at home because of the similar languages, food habits, culture and traditions. Secondly, this travel cost particularly less than aboard tourism due to affordable travel fares, accommodation and other expenses. Lastly, one will be more relaxed since local travel avoid immigration procedures subjected to their travel.

However, others school of thought feels that despite of having a few difficulties people might not stop travelling to the other nations due to the globalisation and unique cultural and traditional experience. First of all, globalisation helped most individuals to travel other countries to foster their trade opportunities, better business deals and entertainment purpose. This propensity fetch more businesses, help surge in profits and some find more exciting things to do. Consequently, this establishment helps one to escape from the daily mundane duties and maintain connection with other countries. Furthermore, this also help one to be extremely confident and foster their communication while meeting others.

To conclude, although, travelling within the country might render more benefits to some individuals like low travelling expenses and provides security. But I personally believe that, visiting other nations might also help one to build strong connections, enhance confidence and communication.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both domestic and international tourism. You clearly state your position in the introduction and maintain it throughout the essay. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While you provide reasons for domestic travel, the arguments for international travel are slightly less focused, drifting into general benefits of globalisation rather than focusing specifically on the holiday experience. To improve, ensure that every supporting point directly relates to the core question of why people choose one type of holiday over the other. The conclusion effectively summarises your stance, ensuring the task requirements are met.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organised into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. You use cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Firstly', 'However', and 'Consequently' to guide the reader through your arguments. While the progression of ideas is generally clear, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally imprecise, such as in the phrase 'others school of thought feels'. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they are used with greater grammatical precision would help elevate the flow of your writing to a higher band.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'phenomenon', 'mundane duties', and 'propensity'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors that hinder precision, such as 'colossal reasons' (which does not fit the context), 'aboard tourism' (instead of 'abroad'), and 'this establishment helps' (where 'establishment' is misused). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they indicate a need for more careful attention to word choice and idiomatic usage to reach a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors throughout the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('others school of thought feels' should be 'another school of thought feels') and prepositional errors ('despite of having' should be 'despite having'). Additionally, there are minor punctuation and article usage slips. While these errors are frequent, they rarely impede communication. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement and refining the use of complex structures to ensure they are error-free.
