Student answer (Band 6.5)
There has been much discussion around this notion of where to go on holidays. Many people choose to visit their own country, despite of going to abroad on holidays in the coming years. From my perspective choosing the home country for vacation is definitely beneficial in several ways, considering the risks in foreign trips.
On the one side, travelling to the home country brings joy in life. Firstly, when visiting some places such as schools, parks and swimming pools where one has created memories with friends, where you spent childhood creates a feeling of nostalgia. Secondly, revisiting the same moments of joy while eating from the same places, going on walk, spending time with family rejuvenates mood. Thirdly, It is a very cost effective option to get away from busy life, tight schedules and hectic life cycle.
On the contrary, While planning a trip to abroad cause many disadvantages such as high cost, uncertainty of the risk and thorough planning. Visiting a new country is an expensive choice as it does not only includes accommodation expenses but also needs to consider food, transportation and entertainment expenses. Additionally, risk of getting lost and crimes such as robbery, stabbing is possible depending on the time and the city you are visiting to. Moreover, this type of travel needs a thorough planning for the most resource-full itinerary.
In conclusion, I believe going back to an own country has its own merits of living the same life again enjoying the moments and rebounding with the old connections, while going abroad has a risky factors, high cost trips and a lot of pre-planning. In my opinion, I totally agree with these notion.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The arguments are relevant, focusing on nostalgia and cost-effectiveness for domestic travel, and risks and expenses for international travel. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the mention of 'crimes such as robbery, stabbing' is a significant over-generalisation that lacks nuance. While the position is clear, the supporting points could be more sophisticated to reach a higher band. The conclusion effectively restates the position, ensuring the task is fully addressed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organised into clear paragraphs. There is a progression of ideas from the introduction to the body paragraphs and the conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', 'On the contrary', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing, such as the phrase 'these notion' in the final sentence, which lacks a clear antecedent. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different viewpoints.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'rejuvenates', 'nostalgia', and 'itinerary'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'despite of going to abroad', 'rebounding with the old connections', and 'risky factors'. These errors do not impede communication, but they demonstrate a lack of precision that prevents a higher score. The range is sufficient but not particularly flexible or sophisticated.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'travelling to the home country brings joy in life' (missing article), 'planning a trip to abroad cause' (subject-verb agreement), and 'does not only includes' (incorrect verb form). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are errors in sentence construction that require the reader to re-read occasionally. A wider range of error-free complex structures is needed to move into the 7.0 band.
